Activision has teamed up with esports organizer the Australian Esports League, produced by Critical Hit Entertainment, to announce the first-ever Call of Duty: Mobile tournament called the Call of Duty Mobile Community Challenge ANZ. As a result players will be able to compete in three seasons of competition from February to July 2021.

The event is a first of it’s kind for Call of Duty: Mobile. Launching with an incredible $5,000 prize pool in Season 1. Players must register by 4th February with competition beginning 6th February.

The Australian Esports League is excited to launch the Call of Duty: Mobile Community Challenge in ANZ with Activision and welcome players of all skill levels to participate. With this event we aim to build a robust ecosystem for the game and its community in Australia and New Zealand.

Mobile esports is a rising sector. Mobile gaming already counts as the fastest rising platform for gaming. This tournament will help build the foundations for a healthy esports landscape and Call of Duty: Mobile community in Australia and New Zealand.

Matches will take place over 5 weeks. Players are expected to compete in a groups stage with the top squads progressing into the finals playoffs. The Grand Finals for Season 1 is taking place on the 6th March 2021.

Players and fans will be able to watch live with commentary. Matches are to be streamed live on the Australian Esports League’s Twitch channels and replay VOD’s posted to YouTube.

Darren Kwan a Director at the Australian Esports League said, “The tournament will act as a platform for players to make a name for themselves, meet other players, make friends and build a local community.”

Tournament Format:

  • The tournament is open to players living in Australia and New Zealand;
  • Players must be aged 15+ to register and participate;
  • Matches will take place over Android and iOS in 5v5 format;
  • 5v5 mode;
  • The tournament will feature a groups stage and finals playoffs;
